I will set up a weekly on-line quiz on the reading. In this quiz, you will ask me the questions.
I have put some
supplementary material on waveguides on the web. I hope it makes Prof. Jones's and my lectures on the topic slightly more useful to you. I will assign one or two problems based on htese notes.
One of many simple Green's function tutorials available on thte web is
K.E.Schmidt's page at Arizona State. That page does the second half of what we did in class Wednesday. Pose the undamped harmonic oscillator problem, find a pair of Green's Functions , match to boundary problems. The web site goes on to show you could use either Green's function, but the obvious choice makes your life a lot easier
