The inaugural conference and workshop on Molecular Origins of Protein Misfolding and Neurodegenerative Disease will be held from July 27-30, 2014 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

The topics covered will include Neurodegeneration, cytotoxicity, and propagation of misfolding; Mechanisms of misfolding and aggregation, including oligomers and intermediates; Cellular co-factors of misfolding and aggregation, including proteostasis and degradation; and Amyloids: structure, formation, and function.

The talks and atmosphere are intended to be informal, to emphasize group discussion of current outstanding research problems, and to foster potential collaboration between the workshop participants.

This workshop is being organized by professors Steven Plotkin (Department of Physics, UBC) and Neil Cashman (Department of Medicine, UBC), and is supported by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) and the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences (PIMS).
