In this talk, we’ll overview our ongoing efforts on the three fronts of (i) novel data acquisition, (ii) image reconstruction and (iii) image analysis as applied to quantitative tomographic imaging. This will include the modalities of positron emission tomography, single-photon emission computed tomography, ultrasound tomography and diffuse optical tomography. We will motivate the significance of quantitative imaging in the context of personalized medicine and for enhanced task performance in clinical and research applications, and argue that integrated efforts on the above-mentioned three fronts can enable significantly enhanced quantitative imaging applications.
