Oser Elected Fellow of American Physical Society

October 7, 2016

Congratulations to Dr. Scott Oser, who has been elected Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). This is a prestigious recognition by his peers at the APS, as the number of elected Fellows each year is very limited.

He is recognized "for scientific and technical leadership in the study of neutrino oscillations in the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory, K2K, and T2K experiments."

Scott's work focuses on neutrinos, the elusive subatomic particles produced inside the Sun. He is a long-time leader in Japan’s Tokai to Kamioka (T2K) Experiment, as well as part of the Sudbury Neutrino Observatory (SNO) Experiment - both of which uncover the mysterious nature of neutrinos. The past year has been a great one for neutrino science, with SNO recognized by Art McDonald's Nobel Prize, and both T2K and SNO awarded the Breakthrough Prize. So it is exciting to learn about Scott's appointment.

Congratulations again Scott!
