Research Associate: Numerical Relativity
(Competition Fac-2010-08)

The gravity group at the University of British Columbia has an opening for a Research Associate position in Numerical Relativity.

Applicants must have a PhD in physics or astrophysics, postdoctoral experience and an established record of research and publication in numerical relativity.  Priority will be given to candidates who have demonstrated the ability to develop an independent research program focused on the solution of Einstein's equations, and who are capable of mentoring graduate students.

Candidates should submit a CV including a list of publications as well as the names of three references electronically by March 26, 2010 to Prof. Matthew Choptuik (email:choptuik=AT=phas.ubc.ca).

Review of applications will begin on April 1, 2010 and will continue until the position is filled.  The initial appointment will be for a period of one year and is expected to begin September 1, 2010, with an additional reappointment of one year dependent on budget and performance.

Salary will be competitive, and commensurate with experience.
