Research Associate: Cosmic Microwave Background Physics

The cosmology group at the University of British Columbia has an opening for a Research Associate position in Cosmic Microwave Background Physics. The group at UBC is specifically involved in the Planck satellite project, and the successful candidate is expected to play a leading role in the analysis of data from this experiment .

Applicants must have a PhD in theoretical astrophysics, and relevant postdoctoral experience.  Priority will be given to candidates with previous familiarity with the Planck experiment who can immediately contribute to this research program.

Review of applications will begin on February 16, 2010 and continue until the position is filled.  The initial appointment will be for a period of 18 months  and is expected to begin March 1, 2010, with further reappointments dependent on budget and performance.
