Fac-2016-06 Senior Faculty Position in Experimental Condensed Matter Physics

The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver invites applications from outstanding candidates for a Senior Faculty position in the field of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will join UBC’s Quantum Matter Institute and create an independent research program, which complements the existing strengths of the department. The Quantum Matter Institute of UBC has strong experimental and theoretical groups working on diverse materials, details of which can be found on the Institute website (qmi.ubc.ca). Candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent, an outstanding research record, and have demonstrated excellence in teaching. The successful candidate will be expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to effectively supervise graduate students. The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of Full or Associate Professor, depending on qualifications and experience.
