CRC Tier II Chair in EXPERIMENTAL CONDENSED MATTER PHYSICS (Comp # 2012-01)
The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of British Columbia invites applications from outstanding candidates for a tenure-track Canada Research Tier II Chair (http://www.chairs.gc.ca/) in the field of Experimental Condensed Matter Physics. The successful candidate will join UBC’s Quantum Matter Institute and create an independent research program in quantum materials and devices, which complements the existing strengths of the department. The Quantum Matter Institute of UBC has strong experimental and theoretical groups working on diverse materials, details of which can be found on the Departmental website. Candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree or equivalent, an outstanding research record, and are expected to teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to supervise graduate students. The successful candidate will be appointed at the level of assistant professor, but a higher rank may be considered for applicants with exceptional qualifications and experience.
